MeetBot is an instance of Mootbot, run by HolgerLevsen (h01ger on IRC). It
currently idles in #debian-edu, #debconf-team and #debian-boot on 
irc.debian.org and on #olpc-groups, #olpc-europe and #olpc-de on 
irc.freenode.net. If you want, I'm happy to send MeetBot in any other free
software related channel. 

MeetBot is written in tcl as a plugin for eggdrop and the source is available
under the GPL. Thanks to the friendly people at #ubuntu-scribus for help with
setting it up and releasing it under the GPL.

I'm using this on Debian etch and have the eggdrop and locales-all packages 
installed. locales-all is mainly useful if you send meetbot to channels with
non ascii charsets :-)

The files in this directory are copied to /home/meetbot, and then meetbot is 
run as the meetbot user (which is just a normal user like you and me). 

The crontab is installed by running "crontab ~/crontab" as meetbot user, after
which meetbot is automatically started at boot time.

Be sure to secure meetbot as appropriate. http://www.egghelp.org/using.htm is
helpful with that :-)
