14:59:21 <richard> and please give a warm welcome to bellatchau, our new very own (shared with UX and community) new product manager
14:59:39 <ma1> welcome, bella ciao!
14:59:52 <PieroV> Welcome! \o/
14:59:58 <richard> could each of you briefly introduce yourselves as well as your area(s) of expertise so she can put some concepts to names?
15:00:01 <boklm> welcome!
15:00:12 <bellatchau> hello everyone! and thanks for the welcome :)
15:00:21 <dan_b> hey!
15:00:38 <Jeremy_Rand_36C3[m]> Hi bellatchau ! Welcome!
15:02:15 <dan_b> I'm Dan Ballard. I'm kinda a generalist I guess? I spent 4 years building a messaging app called Cwtch that uses tor beforing coming to tor project, and doing porting work for that, so here, kind of jack of all trades again, I've worked on OS specific bugs for mac and windows a bit, a lot of android lately, and some work with periov on direct tor integration. random bits of UI cleanup as UX directs. 🤷‍♀️
15:03:05 <boklm> I'm Nicolas (or boklm), working mainly on Tor Browser build system and release process (reproducible builds, signing, etc ...)
15:03:48 <jagtalon> hello bellatchau! i'm jag, ux designer working on the browsers and sometimes our website o/
15:04:04 <ma1> My name is Giorgio Maone. I work on the Tor Browser and I've created and maintain the NoScript browser extension. I mostly break and build stuff around browser security, but also browser extension related and front-end things like letterboxing.
15:04:14 <richard> :)
15:04:30 <PieroV> I'm Pier Angelo Vendrame, aka PieroV. I'm also a generalist I'd say. Maybe the frontend is the part I touch the less these days (even though in the past I worked also on that)
15:05:10 <Jeremy_Rand_36C3[m]> bellatchau: I'm Jeremy Rand. I'm a Namecoin developer; Namecoin and Tor are good friends. Sometimes Namecoin pays me to work on Tor Browser things, I also do volunteer stuff for Tor Browser of my own accord. Among other things, I did the Namecoin integration in Tor Browser (naturally), the ARM and POWER Linux ports of Tor Browser, various work involving Tor Browser integration with Whonix, and I mentored a Tor Project intern
15:05:10 <Jeremy_Rand_36C3[m]> last year.
15:05:39 <bellatchau> lovely to "hear/read" from all of you
15:05:48 <clairehurst> I'm Claire, I started around 5 months ago and I work on the Tor Browser for Android as an android developer
15:06:29 <bellatchau> hello! and thanks for sharing a bit of all you do, thats really helpful
15:06:50 <richard> ok, I think that's about everyone, henry seems afk
15:07:00 <richard> cohosh: you around?
15:07:26 <PieroV> Maybe henry hasn't joined this channel after the matrix bridge reboots
15:07:36 <dan_b> ahd thorin?
15:08:00 <PieroV> He's probably sleeping (or so I hope), this timeslot doesn't work well for him
15:08:03 <richard> (cohosh is on anticensorship team but is working on some s96 stuffs for tor browser)
15:08:26 <richard> well i'll have to ping them offline or on gitlab
15:08:53 <richard> so this week, we should be releasing 13.5a4
15:09:38 <richard> i've done the release prep last week, just need to recheck for any version updates
15:09:58 <richard> and then we can then most likely build Mullvad Browser tonight and sign tomorrow
15:10:05 <richard> ruihildt[m] ^
15:10:22 <richard> we'll hold off on Tor Browser until the remaining s96 patches are in a usable state
15:11:03 <richard> for those who didn't catch it on IRC, we've delayed the Lox portion of the s96 deliverables until Wednesday to give henry-x and cohosh some more time
15:11:19 <richard> in the meantime the reviewer has plenty of other s96 patches to look over
15:11:30 <PieroV> The first part of Lox has been merged last Friday
15:11:32 <richard> so we didn't receive any protestations
15:11:49 <ruihildt[m]> (ack)
15:12:03 <PieroV> But it's hard to test, because we need some custom stuff for simulating time passing and so on
15:12:17 <PieroV> (basically, a local/playground Lox Authority deployment)
15:12:52 <richard> exciting
15:13:29 <richard> if you all haven't played around with latest, the about:preferences#connection updates are in (sans lox-specific stuffs) and they look really nice :D
15:13:47 <PieroV> +1 gj Henry and UX team!
15:14:33 <richard> jagtalon: sorry if already asnwered in gitlab, but will you be able to review ma1's letterboxing UX this week for this alpha?
15:14:47 <richard> i know it's not s96, but it is a major improvement I think over current :D
15:14:54 <jagtalon> richard: yes! actually replying rn haha
15:14:55 <henry-x> what is the state of the Lox module?
15:15:10 <dan_b> oooh building now
15:15:38 <richard> *something* was merged on Friday, sounds like PieroV knows the details
15:16:11 <PieroV> henry-x: merged, but I could test only a very small part of it
15:17:05 <henry-x> what can I do to test it in the front end? I'm also going to test with some placeholder Lox objects for niche stuff
15:17:47 <PieroV> henry-x: I think you'll have to ask cohosh and/or onyinyang
15:18:07 <PieroV> Because from what I understood tests need to be done on a separate deployment
15:18:34 <henry-x> ok
15:20:09 <henry-x> I'm hoping to have the UI set up by the end of today, modulo the invites dialog
15:21:48 <richard> ok
15:21:58 <richard> does anyone else have further topics to discuss?
15:22:12 <PieroV> I don't
15:22:20 <ma1> I'm fine.
15:22:47 <ma1> - thanks jagtalon for the review ;)
15:23:06 <jagtalon> ma1: you got it! excellent work it works well in my windows vm
15:23:32 <ma1> <3
15:24:25 <bellatchau> thanks for the intro everyone :)
15:26:11 <richard> ok
15:26:15 <richard> later skaters
